The Rest of Christmas!

The rest of Christmas was spent in our PJ's, playing with toys and enjoying each other!  This was by far my favorite Christmas!  Clara and Nora enjoyed the season so much and with Miss Lila part of the family and the fact that the Lynch family is complete, made this one just that much sweeter!

Christmas Brunch

Nana, Nick and Joe came over for brunch.  We were so lucky to dine with Snow White!  Nana came with even more goods.  These girls are so spoiled!

Santa Came!!

Santa came!

Santa came and he we must have all been very good!  Clara woke up at 4:40 AM.  Santa had left a little something under her and Nora's trees in their room, so when she spotted that, she was up.  We held her off until about 5:15, when Lila woke up, then we woke up Nora and headed downstairs.  Oh the magic of it all!  The girls were so excited!!  I even got a new camera and was very surprised!

Christmas Eve Part 2

The Lynch pile!

A family picture...between the "girl" tree and the "boy" tree.  These hold the ornaments that have been painted by us (meaning, The P's, their kids and grandkids) for the last three years!

Clara got a music table!

Nora's rocker, handpainted and personalized by Gram!

Lila got her toybox, handpainted by Papa!  Look close, it is an owl painted on top, with a tree branch painted around the sides and front.  Her nameplate is hanging by two chains, from the "branch".

The opening was total chaos, or so I felt...trying to see what the girls opened.  They had so much fun! We opened and then the rest of the family arrived for a picnic style dinner, complete with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs and corn!  We got the girls home for bed to await the arrival of St. Nick!

Christmas Eve Part 1

We went to the Noon service on Christmas Eve.  The girls looked so cute dressed up in their dresses.  After church, we came home, had some rest time.  Once Nora was up, we left cookies for Santa and some treats for the reindeer outside and then loaded in the car to head to Papa and Gram's!

Winter Wonderlights!

Pops and Gram met us at the Wildlife Museum for a fun night at the Winter Wonderlights last Friday night!  The girls loved it!  We had fun looking at the lights and then popped inside for some hot chocolate and letter writing to Santa.  Then we watched the Grinch and back outside to see Santa's Village and meet Dancer and Prancer.  (We did not sit on Santa's lap for obvious reasons...)  I love the thought process of Clara's very smart four-year old brain.  She was very excited to see the reindeer, but quickly asked Brian why they didn't just fly out since they were only behind a fence.  Good question, Clara, why didn't they just fly out?  Hmmmm....

More from Santa's Visit!

Brian was able to come join in the fun!  Good thing since two of the three needed some extra love after sitting on Santa's lap!!

Santa and our "jolly" elves!

Today we got to visit Santa!  Clara was delighted and I really enjoyed seeing the magic of Santa at work!  Nora was the saddest.  I think she would have rather been at the doctor getting a shot. Lila simply wanted to back in the arms of Mommy.  Ahhh....where is the egg nog?
By the way, I really hope this fear of people in costume thing with Nora is over by the fall, as we have booked a Disney cruise.  That could be a very long five days...

Clara's December Dance Performance!

Today we got to watch Clara do her progress performance in her dance class.  The class did a group performance and then they each demonstated two skills!  Clara did her turns and arabesque!  She did a great job and we were very proud of her!!

CLC Christmas Program

Clara and Nora had their Christmas program last Friday!  They did SO good!  Clara is in the older group of kids, so her performance included playing the bells and singing songs in Spanish!  Nora's class sang Twinkle Twinkle and she actually sang her song!  You could see her singing away!  The girls wore their Christmas dresses, including Lila!

Give me a C! Give me an N! Give me an L!

Like the pumkin shirts in October, some of us Riverbrook girls got together to make initial shirts!  So cute!!  Chance showed us how to make a matching fabric flower clip.  So easy!  I may even learn how to use a sewing machine some day and could even see myself owning one!

Even little fairies sleep...

and they sleep best when snuggled with their ballerina bunnies.

Nora's December Dance Performance!

At the girls' dance studio, they do a progress performance in December.  No big costumes or auditorium (like the one coming in June) but the parents are invited in to see what the girls do!  Nora was so cute!  They did a little animal song and then a dance with princess crowns and another with pom poms!  Nora loves to dance, just like her big sister!  Be looking for Clara's...her is next week!

Baking with Nana

During Brian's trip to Vegas, Nana took the big girls for an overnight and then brought them back on Sunday.  The weather was pretty bad, so she decided to stay the night.  The girls helped her bake some very yummy cookies, who we shared with our neighbor, Tommy, as a huge thank you for shoveling the walk!  Clara and Nora love to dump the ingredients in and then both have to take turns with the mixer!  Thanks Nana for coming down!

The Shoemaker and His Elves

Last Wednesday (yes, I am that behind!) Clara, Nora and I joined Addison, Reagan, Brenna, Ava, and Mackenzie to see a production of the Shoemaker and His Elves.  While the show included a bonus production of The Grinch and some improv by high school students, making it a 2+ hour evening, we had a great time.  My girls enjoyed the show and were still awake at the end (at 9:30!)  Love Christmas time and all the fun happenings!

Miss Lila is 9 Months!

We had her pictures done at the Picture People during the week.  Isn't she just sweet?

My "Crappy" Morning.

When I say crappy, I mean as in, poo, dodo, the number two, whatever you want to call it.   The real deal.  Brian left for Vegas this morning with some good friends.  He kissed us all goodbye at 7:15 AM as the guys came to pick him up.  My thought was "this isn't going to be so bad, right?"   We were all playing so nicely in the playroom with the doll house.  Pretty quickly, I smelled that all familiar dirty diaper smell from one precious little two year old.  I didn't want to leave Lila unattended around all of the small items she could put in her mouth, so Clara grabbed the diapers and wipes for me and I quickly changed her and tossed the diaper out of the room so we would not choke on the smell.  A few minutes later I grabbed Lila and headed to the kitchen, forgetting all about the diaper.  Then the smell hit me again.  Who now, I thought?  I checked Nora.  Nope.  Lila?  Nope.  Then I discovered one little brown dog, Lucy,  under my dining room table with a diaper torn apart and crap in the rug.  Gross.  I set Lila down, grabbed the Green Machine and the the carpet cleaner and went to work cleaning it up. Done.  Grabbed Lila, who of course now had done her morning duty of pooping and changed her.  By this time, she is hungry, so I sit on the couch to nurse her.  Lucy settles in next to me as she always does.  Then I smell it again.  Bad.  Upon further inspection, Lucy has poop in her paws.  Lila goes on the floor.  My clothes come off (good thing the neighborbor behind us happens to be on the plane with Brain, so only Leslie would get the peek)  and the dog gets her paws scubbed.  In the mean time, Clara has made her way into the bathroom and has decided at that very minute, I need to come wipe her bottom, because she too has pooped and would like me to make sure she is clean.  All of this before 8 AM on day one of Brian being gone.  Gotta say, I was very glad when Nana showed up at 10 to take the big girls to her house for the night.  I needed a break.  And a shower.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This Sunday we set up the tree and hung the stockings.  I am so excited becasue this year I ordered our offical monagram stockings since our family is now complete!  Brian also put up lights outside.  The girls also have trees in their rooms.  These are a huge hit!  They were so excited to decorate!  Clara did a great job putting her ornaments on.  Nora kind of clustered hers in one area.  We listened to Mitch Miller and had a great day!
