Memorial Day!

We had our very first BBQ!  Just a small family gathering.  Nice to have everyone over and not feel like we were on top of each other!!

Nora helped Daddy BBQ

Beau is the only boy cousin on our side...the girls got a hold of him and made him a princess!

Dress up!

Joe has been working on our new fence since Saturday!  He spent most of the party here.  Just to note...Brian had spent most of the weekend here also, he just needed to be on grill duty!

A Hiking We Will Go!!

Just up our street is a little cul-de-sac with a trail that leads to a huge trail system!!  One path leads to the big park, another to Daniel's Park.  The views are amazing!  So much fun!  We have done two hikes and are ready to try even more!  The girls love it and it makes for some good excercise for me!  Anyone want to come join us on the next one??

A few of my new favorite things!!

It is a process to get settled.  Lots of unpacking and figuring where things go.   We have a formal dining room, so that meant we needed a new breakfast table.  I wanted a bench since you can fit lots of little bodies on one.  When I saw this table I knew I had to have it!  Overstock.com is my new favorite place.  Who can beat $3 shipping!

We have also been busy with new window coverings.  The previous owners were an older couple so the house was barely lived in.  Bonus for us, very clean.  The down side...everything is white...white walls, white window covering ( and UGLY), white carpet.  Paint is in the future, but for now, I am putting some color in with drapes.

New table and chocolate brown drapes on the patio door!
We also got a new TV.  We had the last one for 8 years, so we figured it was time for an upgrade....all I can say is wow!

My most favorite room is the laundry/mud room.   It is so perfect to come into a room like this and not into my kitchen, like our old house.  Of course, I needed some hooks and some bins for shoes. I went with green... I got green plastic bins for random stuff and even a new green laundry basket.  Even hung some pictures since I come in and out of this room ALL DAY!  But, I love it!  (And will love it even more when my new whirlpools arrive next week...ahhhh...)

More to come later....

Hats off to Clara!!

Our little smartie graduated Kindergarten yesterday!  They had a little ceremony in the gym where the kids all sang a few songs.  Then they showed interviews they did of each kid asking what they liked best about kindergarten and what they want to be when they grow up.  Clara liked making friends the best and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up!  After they each had a little speaking part.  Clara's was "M is for minding and showing respect."  Then they had their names read and got a diploma.  Graduation was followed by a party in the classroom.  Mixed emotions for me!  Glad for Clara as I watch her grow up.  She is so smart, creative and talented.  Sad for me as my little sweet baby is off to first grade.  Seems like time has gone so fast!

Catching Up

Here are some pictures before we moved!   I found a local lady who makes little girl dresses and then matching doll dresses.  Since Clara picked a new American Girl for her birthday, this was the perfect gift!  Lila does not have an American Girl...yet...but her baby is cute in the dress too!

Bye-bye Riverbrook...we loved this house and the people we met from living there...good thing we are still super close by so we can still see our friends!

Since Mother's Day was the day before we closed, I spent the day packing up!  I did get to enjoy a yummy breakfast and some wonderful handmade gifts and cards!  We also had a great dinner at the P's!

Where have we been?

We have been MOVING!  We sold our sweet house that we lived in for almost 8 years and moved up the street four blocks into a house with much, much more space!  We have been crazy busy trying to get unpacked and settled!  Pictures to come soon!

Eggs and Easter!

The night before Easter, we dyed our eggs!  I am in charge of making deviled eggs each year, so that are plenty of hard boiled ones to be colored!

The next morning, the girls got up to hunt for their baskets!  The Easter Bunny brought a mini bunny pillow pet, squinkies with hair, pet shops and little Lalaloopsies!

We quickly got ready, made deviled eggs and made it to church, on time and able to get seats!  It was an amazing service.  From church we headed over to Papa and Gram's for a huge lunch, more baskets from the bunny, an egg hunt and bubbles!

Yikes!  I tried to get the girls picture together at papa's...bad idea.  Clara was being silly, Lila had just woke up and Nora needed to go potty.

Easter goodies!

Clara and her latest treasures!

Ready to hunt!
