Who's SIX??? Clara, that's who!

What??!!  Hard to believe my sweet little tiny baby has turned six.  Clara was beyond excited and even had to make a count down chart about three weeks ago because she just could not wait for her big birthday!  The birthday was an all out bash, as one would expect!  The morning started off with opening presents from us.  Clara got a dress and one to match her American Girl and then I had a tooth fairy pillow made from her crib sheets (not my idea, but it is so cute!!)

Then we were off to the American Girl store to pick out a new doll using her birthday cash from family.  She picked Kanani.  She is the 2011 doll and super cute, only problem is I don't think Clara has her name down yet!  She also got some PJ's for her.  Gram met us there and had the Starbuck's Birthday Cake Pops in hand.  OMG...they are to die for!!

The next stop...one HUGE Birthday BASH at Adrenaline Gymnastics.  We do gymnastics there and for parties, they put out a couple of bounce houses.  Clara invited the girls in her class and her other girl friends, for a total of 25 little girls at one party!  It was crazy and fun!  The theme was Cowgirl and she loved it!  I made her birthday shirt and tutu...she could not have looked cuter!!!

***Side note on the following pics.  Our neighbor who is a photographer was looking for an event involving kids for her class assignment.  I volunteered the party.  She graciously shared her images with me.  They are so good...I may never be able to photograph my parties again (just kidding, but she really does put me and my nice camera to shame!!!)  Thanks Sharon at http://sharonsphoto.blogspot.com/

My photo...had to put this one in of my sweet Cowgirl!

Again, my pic!  Nana came to celebrate with the birthday girl!

We finished the day with dying eggs...but that is for another blog post!

Egg Hunt!

The neighborhood egg hunt was put together last minute this year, but was still a success!  The kids have always loved this and we do too!

La, La, La

Nora and  Lila had a spring musical!  This was Grandma and Grandpa's last hurrah before heading home.  Glad they got to see one of these cute music programs at the pre-school.  They are precious!  This year, the theme was animals, so each class sang songs about the class they are in.  Lila is a Bunny and Nora is a Teddy Bear.  So cute!  Both girls did sing and did a great job!  Nora's class sang with the whole pre-school at the beginning and end.  Lila's class skips that...they are just too little yet!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Lots to post!  Brian's parents came to town last week from Friday to Wednesday.  We kept them very busy with just our usual schedule!   A few hot spots was an Easter Bunny visit and a family birthday celebration for Clara!

Lila is not so sure, but followed her sisters!

Red Robin is always were Clara wants to have her family celebration at Red Robin!  We had the festivities a few days early so Grandma and Grandpa could partake!

When we left Red Robin it was raining with the sun out.  I made a comment about wanting to see a rainbow.  Two minutes later, we pulled over to see not one, but two rainbows!

I think Grandma and Grandpa had a good visit and I bet they went home tired!

Vaca!

Last weekend, I went to Santa Barbara with 12 women.  The trip is called the P & P...for Purse and Panties and you can only come if those are items you pack!  So no kids, no men, just a fun family and friends of family vacation!  It was so much fun!!  We stayed at a place called the Cliff House Inn.  It was right on the coast and each room had an ocean view.   Amazing!  We arrived Thursday and had dinner in Carpentira.  The next day was a shopping extravaganza in Solvang and wine tasting in Los Ollios.  On Saturday, everyone wanted to do more shopping, but Autumn and I wanted to just sit, so by the ocean we did, for three hours with coors light in hand.  We watched dolphins and surfers...paradise!  Then we headed to a patio...perfect escape for us!  That night we ate at the Cliff House and was so good!  We had an extra guest, Holly.  So good to see her!  Home on Sunday!

Go Rockies...Well, Maybe in June!

When Clara was almost one, we took her to Opening Day of the Rockies and Brian decided it would be a family tradition.  Well, the Rockies got popular a couple years after that and opening day just turned into a big party with a big crowd and big ticket prices.  Not something that is all that redeeming when you have three little people to take, so last year we changed our tradition to Opening Weekend until the girls are a bit older!  This year we decided to head down to the game on Sunday.  The weather on Saturday was perfect, so we thought we were in luck...not so much.  As springtime in Colorado goes, we ended up with a chilly morning.  We figured it was not a big deal, just pack coats and we didn't have to stay the whole time.  As we were driving down, it started to rain. We are troopers, so we paid our $10 to park and grabbed an umbrella.  When we got in the weather got quite a bit colder and they were on a rain delay.  We grabbed Dip-N-Dots (at $5 a bowl) for the girls (a tradition as well) and waited.  The rain turned to snow and the game was cancelled.  So we basically had $25 ice cream and pictures to prove it!  Tickets are good for any game...I am thinking June or July!
