Clara's Creativity!

This little creative work of art contains one unicorn pillow pet, sitting on a heart shaped pillow, wearing an American Girl horse saddle, tied to the door handle with two winter scarfs tied together, while reading the book "You Are All My Favories"  At least the little guy was given a book to read while waiting to be ridden by our little cowgirl!

Jelly Stone Camping Trip

Our fifth and final camping trip was to Jelly Stone with a large group!  This group had eight parents and 11 little girls, five and under!  What a fun trip!  We enjoyed lots of games and activities, eating, roasting marshmellows and rock collecting.  Even Lucy and Linus made the trip and they were so good!  I am kind of sad I left them home all summer for fear that they would bark and cry the whole time, but they loved every minute!  Brian even said it felt good to have them, even if they did add one more thing to manage on a camping trip with little ones and I agree!  Great time and I am looking forward to camping season next year!

Kindie Update!

Clara was very excited to ride the bus home after her first week of school!  I was also very excited to let her as pick up at an elementry school with 700 students is kind of hectic!  She also did her very first homework assignment...decorate a bear for the "Bear Wall."  Of course we made copies of the bear and let Nora and Lila in on the fun!

A Day for Nora

What happens when you are almost three years old and your big sister starts school a full month before you and she happens to be starting kindergarten which is a huge deal and she has got a lot of attention?  Well, you start thowing massive temper tantrums and kind of lose your mind!
By Thursday of the first week of school, it became quite clear Nora needed some special time.  This was noted after she had a fit each day at pick up and then even one so bad on Thursday she bit my leg in the middle of her rage.  So that night, after she was all calmed down, I asked her what she would like to do while Clara went to school and she answered the zoo.  Now, when you have a little sister, she tags along also, but Nora did not seem to mind and I must say, the day was fun!  Nora got to pick where we went and what we did and where we sat on the train and carosel.  She never gets to do that kind of stuff!  We all left very happy and the afternoon did not bring a bad temper tantrum!  My sweet Nora is back!  Mommy wins!

Nora used the map to navigate us around the zoo!

Clara Goes to Kindergarten...

sniff...sniff....How is it really possible that Clara is old enough to go?  Wow, time really flies by.  With little ones, the days are long, but the years are short!  She was so excited & nervous & happy!  You can only imagine...lots of emotions for all of us!  When she got home she said she loved it and was ready to go back. Her teacher is Mrs. Stromberg and you can tell she cares for her students and has a passion for teaching.  We are very blessed!   We are so lucky to be on a block with lots of little Heritage Explorers and Addison is in her class and Mrs. Stromberg even made it a point to let them sit together.  Let's hope this does not start a talking in class habit that she may have inheritated from one of her parents (no names, of course!)

Savoring Summer

As summer winds down with school around the summer, we have tried to sneek in a few last minute things!

Brian took Clara and Nora to a baseball game!  They loved it and came home very dirty from chips and cheese,  dip n dots and ice cream (wonder why loved baseball games so much...)

We have gone swimming each Thursday at Abbie's pool for most of the summer.  We have had fun swimming with our friends Eleanor, Jake, Trent, Jackson, Mackenzie and Presley.  I finally remembered my camera for the last swim day!

Our last offical day of summer for Clara!  We enjoyed story time and then went to Civic Green Park to run in the fountains with the Borie girls.   Dang!  I am going to miss summer!!

Jumbo Reservior

Camping trip number three of the season: Jumbo Reservior...The Lucius Family joined us.  I failed to take many pictures, mainly due to the fact that as I was getting ready to take some cute pictures on Saturday, our entire camp was forced to leave by the Colorado Division of Wildlife.  Let's just say it was not a fair situation and I have zero respect for the officers who over see that area. For the time that we were there, we really did have fun!  The big girls love the jet skis and cried when we had to leave because they love camping so much!

Jellystone Camping Trip

Our second camping trip of the summer was a three night stay at Jellystone Campgrounds just outside of Estes Park. So fun! They have kid activities every hour and tons of fun stuff for the kids to do! Papa and Gram came up in the RV and we had a ton of fun!  We got up Friday night and set up camp.  Saturday we played all around the campgrouds...flag raising, minature golf, hay rides, ice cream, playground, looking for special rocks and then a campfire with smores (of course!)

Sunday Gram and Pop headed home and we headed up to Cheyenne for our annual trip to Frontier Days.  We did a little shopping, watched the rodeo and rode some rides.  We then headed back to Jellystone for one more night of camping.  We were worn out, but had a fun time!
This picture made me laugh...Clara and Nora are on the kiddie roller coaster with Brian (he had to ride because of Nora's height), but it looks like only Brian is enjoying the fun dragon ride!
